Asia Cup 2023 – BCCI President And Vice President Will Go To Pakistan Today:

According to the information received, after Roger Binny and Rajeev Shukla accepted the invitation, the Indian Board approved these two legends for a 3-day tour of Pakistan.

BCCI President Roger Binny and Vice President Rajeev Shukla will be in Lahore from September 4-7, during which they will watch some Asia Cup matches.

Binny and Shukla were invited for dinner

Actually, Binny and Shukla have been invited to the official dinner to be organized by PCB at Governor House, Lahore on September 4. Both the officers will attend the dinner along with their respective wives.

Apart from this, two BCCI dignitaries will watch the Afghanistan vs. Sri Lanka match on September 5 and Pakistan’s opening Super Four match the next day.

Why did the board make this decision?

Times Now has quoted sources as saying that Board Secretary Jai Shah is the President of the Asian Cricket Council.

Since Pakistan is hosting the event, it was not right to leave the Pakistan board isolated like this. For this reason, the BCCI President and Vice President are going there.

Will there be no talk on the bilateral series?

The source also says that the board representatives are going there but there will be no discussion on any kind of bilateral series as it depends on the permission of the government.

We are completely clear about this. According to the source, Board officials will reach there from Wagah Border on 4th September. On the same day, he will go to a dinner organized by the Punjab Governor.

Will go to Pakistan via Wagah Border

Later, while talking to Times of India, Roger Binny confirmed that Vice President Rajeev Shukla and I will go to Pakistan from Wagah Border on 4th September.

Apart from the official dinner, we will also see some matches there. Indian Board officials will be in Pakistan between the 4th to 7th of September.

The officials can also go to Lahore to watch the game between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. This match is to be played on 5th September at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

In fact, bilateral cricket has not been played between India and Pakistan for a long time due to the strained diplomatic relations between the two neighbors (India and Pakistan).

The two teams only play each other in ICC and continental events and Pakistan is scheduled to travel to India for the ODI World Cup later this year. In such a situation, the departure of both officers becomes even more necessary.
