BCCI To Spend Rs 500 Crore On Infrastructure Upgrade Of All World Cup 2023 Venues

Indian cricket stadium renovation: World Cup 2023 is going to start in India from October 5 for which 10 cities have been selected.

BCCI has decided to give ₹50 crores to each ODI World Cup 2023 venue to develop their cricket stadium infrastructure in these 10 years.

BCCI To Spend Rs 500 Crore On Infrastructure

According to the Indian Express report, these cricket stadiums will separately renovate the infrastructure and BCCI is giving a total of Rs 500 crore to the 10 World Cup sites for this.

The official venues for the ICC World Cup 2023 include Ahmedabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Dharamsala, Delhi, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Kolkata. Apart from this, warm games will also be played at two places which are in Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram.

HPCA member Arun Dhumal told The Indian Express that, we have redone the entire surface of the stadium, and we have also given a makeover to the VVIP and hospitality boxes.

We wanted to make sure that we have good drainage facilities so that play can start as soon as possible after the rains.

Similarly, Mumbai Cricket Association President Amol Kale said that the process of developing the infrastructure has already started, which includes a new outfield, new LED lighting, renovation of the corporate box, and new toilets.

At the same time, Maharashtra Cricket Association President Rohit Pawar told about the work going on in Pune Stadium that three-fourths of the stadium does not have a roof.

In such a situation, the stands which can be covered will be covered. Planning is underway on basic facilities like clean toilets, and parking space. Bad seats will be replaced, drainage system and floodlights will also leave no stone unturned.
