IPL 2023: According to Kamal Wadhera, father of Nehal Wadhera, in October 2022 a phone call was received at home. An official of Mumbai Indians Management had called.

He asked Nehal to come to Mumbai to give a trial. Nehal went to Mumbai. He showed his ability in two days trial. Then he returned to Ludhiana. Ten days later, Nehal got a call again from Mumbai.

He has tried again in front of Rohit Sharma and Zaheer Khan. The coach also reviewed his game. After everyone’s consent, it was decided to add him to the team.

Then Nehal put his name for the IPL auction in December 2022. MI bought him at his base price of 20 lakhs Rupees. On 2 April 2023, Nehal made his IPL debut against RCB.
