The first match of the Asia Cup 2023 between India and Pakistan will be played in Kandy. India has fielded a strong team for this tournament which includes veteran players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Pakistan’s team is also not weak and they have great players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

But, former Pakistani cricketer Salman Butt believes that the Pakistan team has a slight advantage in the match going to be held on September 2. Justifying his claim, he said that the fitness of the fast bowlers of the Indian team is still a matter of concern.

He said that the Indian team has won matches only when Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli played well. When these two have not played well, the team has lost most of the matches.

Butt said that the Pakistan team has great players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf. He said that the Pakistan team has a strong core group.

The Indian team also has match winners like Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. But Butt believes that the batting of the Indian team is weak and if the Pakistan team takes two big wickets of India then it may become difficult for the other batsmen.

Butt said that the fast bowlers of the Pakistan team can bowl at the speed of 90 mph, whereas only one or two bowlers in the Indian team can bowl at the speed of 90 mph. He said that this is a big advantage for the Pakistan team. Pakistan team has both types of spinners and also a fast bowling all-rounder.

Butt believes that there will be more pressure on the Indian team in this match because India is expected to win this match. He said that India has not played a match against Pakistan for a long time and their players are not experienced in such high-voltage matches.

Butt said, “No matter how many IPLs the Indian players play in the morning, afternoon, and evening, it will not give them the experience to deal with the pressure of the India-Pakistan series.”

The first match of the Asia Cup 2023 between India and Pakistan is expected to be an exciting contest. Both teams will go all out for the win and it will be interesting to see which team wins.
