Delhi District Cricket Association joint secretary Rajan Manchanda said the state body’s decision to relieve Yash Dhull from captaincy was taken to help the young batsman regain his form.

Delhi appointed senior player Himmat Singh as their captain for the remaining Ranji Trophy season.

Manchanda was quoted by news agency PTI as saying, ‘Yash is a talented player, but is not in form. We wanted him to perform well as a batsman, that is why we have relieved him of the responsibility of captaincy. Himmat is our senior player and he has performed very well for us. He will captain.’
