India Vs Afghanistan: Cricket Match To Be Held In Gwalior After 14 Years: A big good news has come for the cricket lovers of Madhya Pradesh. After a long wait of 14 years, an international cricket match is going to be held in Gwalior.

The last international match was played between India and South Africa on 24 February 2010 at the Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior.

Preparations to hold the second match of the three-match T20 series between India and Afghanistan at the newly constructed Shankarpur Ground in Gwalior are almost in the final stages. Only the formalities of BCCI inspection remain.

India Vs Afghanistan: Cricket Match To Be Held In Gwalior After 14 Years

Officials of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association and Gwalior Division Cricket Association have geared up on the instructions of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Three LED flood light poles have been completely erected in the newly constructed ground which is being prepared like a war footing for the international competition.

Out of a total of 6 poles, 3 poles are likely to be erected in the next three to four days. The interior work of both the pavilions is in the final stages. There is a seating arrangement for 30 thousand spectators on the ground.

For the stay of Afghanistan players, both the three-star hotels of Gwalior city have been booked from 12th to 15th January.

Cricket Match In Gwalior

Let us tell you that the last international match on the ground of Gwalior was played between India and South Africa on 24 February 2010 at Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior.

No matches were played from 2010 to 2023. Now preparations are being made to play the match once again.

It is almost certain to play the second T20 match between India and Afghanistan on January 14. A lot of enthusiasm is being seen among cricket lovers.
