This is India’s 42nd win in 54 T20 matches under the leadership of captain Rohit Sharma. With this, Hitman has become the Indian captain who has won the most matches in this format.

With this, Rohit has also broken the record of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Under Dhoni’s leadership, India won 41 out of 72 T20 matches.

Rohit, who returned to the format after a gap of 14 months, faced criticism after performing poorly with the bat in the first two matches.

However, when India came into the match on Wednesday and won the series, he was in great shape with his captaincy. The Indian captain registered his name in cricket history by scoring a record fifth T20 International century.

Rohit Sharma Hit 11 Fours And 8 Sixes

Rohit’s innings were nothing short of spectacular as he rescued India from a poor start of 22/4. His explosive innings of 121 not out off 69 balls included 11 fours and eight sixes, surpassing his previous best score in this format.

Rohit Sharma along with Rinku Singh (who scored 69* off 39 balls) formed a vital partnership of 190 runs, setting a new record for the highest stand for any wicket for India in T20Is.

The attack of these two in the last overs took India to a strong score of 212/4. Rohit came to bat and hit two sixes in the first Super Over as India was chasing 17 runs to win.

However, when the game reached the second super over, the Indian captain scored 10 runs and India set a target of 12 runs. Ravi Bishnoi helped Rohit seal a historic win with a brilliant performance.
