IPL 2024: BCCI Plans To Hold The Indian Premier League From March 22 To May 26: IPL fans are now eagerly waiting for action-packed matches. Meanwhile, a big update has come regarding the tournament.

The 17th season of the Indian Premier League is expected to begin on March 22, just five days after the scheduled conclusion of the Women’s Premier League. Also, the IPL may end on May 26, just five days before the start of the T20 World Cup.

As per the tentative schedule discussed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) with its stakeholders, the second season of the WPL will take place from February 22 to March 17, reports Cricbuzz.

As reported earlier, the league will be hosted in Bengaluru and Delhi. The official announcement of the dates is expected in a day or two.

The Schedule Will Be Released After The General Election Dates

It was reported in the report that the IPL 2024 schedule will be released after the announcement of the general election dates. BCCI is considering organizing the tournament in the window between March 22 and May 26.

The schedule can be confirmed only after the election dates are announced, but the BCCI is confident of holding the entire league in India.

BCCI has received assurance from most cricket boards that their players will be available until the final. However, considering that the T20 World Cup begins on June 1, an early departure of some players cannot be ruled out.

But at this stage, BCCI’s primary concern is to align the schedule with the general elections and to hold the league in India.

Rohit Sharma Chose To Practice In Mumbai

Meanwhile, before the Test series against England, Indian players held a net session in Hyderabad, in which most players including Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja participated.

However, captain Rohit Sharma was absent, opting for an individual net session at the BKC Ground in Mumbai. Rohit is expected to join the team on Monday in Hyderabad, where another net session is being planned.

It is believed that Jadeja may skip this session as he plans to go to Ayodhya. The players reached Hyderabad on Saturday.
