Kuldeep Yadav on Sunday said that Wankhede remains a difficult venue for the bowlers, and the hosts will need early wickets to dominate the Kiwis. India will face New Zealand in the last four matches in Mumbai on Wednesday.

He said, ‘It is difficult to bowl at Wankhede. The bounce is right and the batsmen often dominate there. Unlike T20, here the bowlers definitely have time to get back into the game, but you will need some early wickets to dominate the match and the opponents.

Kuldeep Yadav further said, ‘The 2019 semi-final (India Vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 Semi-Final) took place four years ago. We have played many bilateral series after that, so we know the conditions (in India) and so do they. Our preparation has been good and we were able to play good cricket throughout the tournament. He said, ‘Therefore we hope to remain in the same rhythm in the next match also.’

Kuldeep has played a key role in India’s spin department, taking 14 wickets in nine matches at an excellent economy rate of 4.15. Reducing the pressure of the knockout match, Kuldeep said that his focus will be on working on his strengths.

He said, ‘I just work on my rhythm and strength. I also focus on how the batsman is trying to play me. My aim is to bowl the ball on good-length areas as much as possible. He said, ‘I just focus on the process rather than wickets. Hopefully, it will work in the next match too.’
