The ODI World Cup to be hosted by India is going to start on 5 October. The ICC has also released the official schedule regarding this, but there is still confusion regarding the arrival of the Pakistani team to India.

Meanwhile, the consultative panel appointed by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is going to hold a big meeting on August 3 regarding the visit to India.

The team’s participation in the upcoming ODI World Cup is to be discussed in the meeting. The panel headed by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto will decide on the team’s participation in the event, which is less than two months away.

While there is no clear indication of whether they will give the green signal to the team or not, it is expected that the Pakistan cricket team will travel to India for the World Cup starting on 5 October.

Pakistan committee will meet on Thursday

A top PCB official told Cricbuzz on Tuesday night that, ‘A high-profile meeting will decide on participation in the World Cup 2023.’

The committee includes Sports Minister Ahsan Mazari, Maryam Aurangzeb, Asad Mahmood, Amin-ul-Haq, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and former diplomat Tariq Fatmi.

According to reports, Pakistan’s interim committee will ask the Board of Control for Cricket in India & the International Cricket Council (ICC) to visit all the venues where their team has to play. Pakistan has security problems for its cricket team and has not yet taken a determination on the team’s participation in the tournament.

Interestingly, Pakistan’s football team was in India in June and July for the SAFF Championship, while their hockey team arrived in India on Tuesday.

Despite no security issues being reported for the teams, the interim committee is delaying giving the go-ahead for the team’s participation in the tournament.

Currently, the Pakistan Cricket Board is non-functional as the elections have been postponed several times, which led to the establishment of the committee.

There can be a clash between India and Pakistan on October 14

The high-voltage India-Pakistan match was to be held in Ahmedabad on 15 October. However, keeping in mind the first day of the Navratri festival, which is celebrated on a large scale in Gujarat, security agencies recommended a change in the itinerary, as a result of which the India-Pakistan clash is likely to be rescheduled to October 14.
