IPL 2023: Match Fee Cut For Cricket’s Good Players Like Virat And Warner

IPL 2023: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) dashing batsman Jason Roy batted in the match played against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 26 April.

He played a blistering inning of 50 runs in 29 balls in the match. Roy hit 4 sixes in a single over of RCB bowler Shahbaz.

However, action was taken against Jason Roy under Article 2.2 of the Level 1 offense of the IPL Code of Conduct.

Action under Article 2.2 takes place when someone misuses cricket equipment or clothing, or ground equipment during the match.

Earlier, in a match against RCB, Avesh threw his helmet on the ground after taking the winning run. After this, action was taken against him like Jason Roy. In this, the decision of the match referee is final and binding.

Warner was fined (IPL 2023)

On April 24, Delhi Capitals captain David Warner was fined Rs 12 lakh for a slow over-rate in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

24 lakh fine on Virat Kohli

On April 23, RCB made a mistake related to the slower rate for the second time in the IPL. Because of this, RCB captain Virat Kohli was fined Rs 24 lakh.

At the same time, the rest of the players and impact substitutes included in the playing 11 of RCB also came under its wrap. He had to pay Rs 6 lakh or 25 percent match fee, whichever was less.

This captain also became a victim of slow overrate

Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson, and RCB captain Faf du Plessis have incurred a loss of Rs 12 lakh each for code of conduct related to clover rate.

What is the action taken on the Slower Rate?

The goal of IPL is that every match should end in three hours and 20 minutes. But, many IPL matches are stretching for more than four hours.

According to IPL- If the captain of a team does slow over rate for the first time, then he is fined Rs 12 lakh. On the other hand, if a captain repeats the sliver rate, then the entire team is fined.

Ashwin came in the wrap of IPL Code of Conduct Rule 2.7 Level 1

R Ashwin of Rajasthan Royals came in the wrap of IPL Code of Conduct 2.7 Level 1. Because of this, he was fined 25 percent of the match fee.

In a match against CSK, Ashwin got angry with the umpire’s decision. The umpire had changed the ball in the middle of the match.

After this IPL issued a press release and said- Ravichandran Ashwin of Rajasthan Royals violated the code of conduct during the match between CSK and RR in IPL, due to which he was fined 25 percent of the match fee.

In this, the decision of the match referee is final and binding. Action under the said code of conduct rule takes place when a player publicly makes inappropriate comments regarding the match.
