Kohli Should Change His Batting Order For Gill-Kishan, Akash Chopra Gave Opinion

Kohli Should Change His Batting Order For Gill-Kishan, Akash Chopra Gave Opinion: Aakash Chopra believes that Virat Kohli should not be made to bat at No.4 just because other players cannot play at that position.

India will be looking at Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul to bat at No.3, 4, and 5 respectively in the Asia Cup and World Cup.

However, if Rahul’s injury does not clear up, the team may be forced to include Ishan Kishan in the top three, leaving Kohli likely to move to number four.

Kohli Should Change His Batting Order For Gill-Kishan:

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra said don’t play Kohli at number four just because you have to give Kishan and Shubman Gill their preferred batting positions.

He said, “Undoubtedly, the best position for Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan is opening. But it should not be that you give Shubman and Ishan their best work because Kohli can play down.

The former Indian opener further said that Virat Kohli’s form is crucial for India. If others cannot play then it is not Virat’s fault.

Chopra said that India is unlikely to win the World Cup 2023 if Rohit and Kohli don’t get going with the bat. He said that while Rohit should open, the latter should play at No.3 to get the best opportunities.

Aakash Chopra on how Virat Kohli batting at No.3 can take the game forward:

“If Virat Kohli comes in to bat at No.3, there is no guarantee that he will get the ball in the first 10-15 overs. Will get to bat, but whenever he gets to bat, he understands the pace of ODI cricket and the runs graph keeps going up.”

“He gets his hundreds around the 35th to 40th over and then gets faster. Then he takes the team to 330-340. He is playing very well where he is playing.”

Chopra gave Kohli a good chance of scoring a few centuries in the World Cup 2023, going by his current form. He said that this could be the same World Cup for Kohli as it was for Rohit Sharma last time.
